I have been married since 1961, have two children and five grandchildren.
My wife an I live in the house we purchased in 1963 and the payment, PITI was less than $130.00 per month on an FHA 30 year fixed interest loan of less than 5%. I might add, my income as a teacher at that time was less than $5,500 per year! Price of the house, $16,900 and after moving in the neighbors told us we paid too much – how much, about $400.00!
